Din Tai Hsing Steamed Egg Cake Nostalgia Restaurant Introduction
"Ding Tai Hsing" is located at the bustling intersection of Zhongshan Road and Sanmin Road in the Taixingli area of Lugang Township, taking its name from the meaning "standing out in Taixingli". The building itself is a Showa-style, red-brick Western-style house. Its quaint and delicate unique style is filled with nostalgic sentiments and characteristics, just like the products it manufactures and sells. In particular, the steamed cake inherits the wisdom of ancestors and improves upon it, insisting on making cakes using a steamer, striving to enhance the traditional salted cake texture while developing various soft, dense, non-dry, and flavorful steamed cakes. This gives Lugang traditional cuisine a richer and more complete product character, becoming a highly representative local souvenir. The famous black sugar steamed cake of Lugang is a best-selling product at Ding Tai Hsing Tea House. The master uses years of rich experience and the ancient method of steaming with a basket, combined with authentic Okinawan black sugar from Japan, creating a black sugar steamed cake that is loved by both adults and children. Ding Tai Hsing's steamed cakes also come in three other flavors: traditional savory cake, Japanese matcha cake, and health-conscious pumpkin cake, all of which are very popular! The most significant feature of Ding Tai Hsing's steamed cake is its dense and smooth texture, sweet yet not greasy. Because it isn’t overly sweet, it is quite favored by female patrons.
