To the north of Lugang, there is a Tianhou Temple, and to the south lies the Dizang Wang Temple, representing the community beliefs of the northern and southern settlements of Lugang regarding the heavens and the earth. The faith in Dizang Wang is highly regarded in Lugang, with vibrant incense offerings during the Zhongyuan Festival when the temple holds grand ceremonies. The normally closed gates are opened at this time for the "Yulanpen Festival," which lasts until nightfall when the temple is closed again. The Dizang Wang Temple is oriented east to west and consists of three halls in a two-entrance layout. It was established in the second year of the Kangxi era (1663) as a small earth and clay temple and was rebuilt as a brick temple in the 22nd year of the Kangxi era (1683). It has been 343 years since then. The temple primarily enshrines the Dizang Wang Bodhisattva, with additional deities such as the local deity, the Zhunsheng Niangniang, and the Ten Yama Kings. The layout comprises two halls and two corridors, with the main hall dedicated to the Dizang Wang Bodhisattva and side niches dedicated to the local deity and Zhunsheng Niangniang. The temple houses a statue of Dizang Wang from the Jiaqing period and a plaque from the 4th year of the Guangxu era (1878) inscribed with "Tianzhu Zunyan," along with a stone tablet established in the 23rd year of the Jiaqing period commemorating the donations to restore and uphold the temple.
