Ostrich World Leisure Farm Introduction
"The Great Ostrich Leisure Farm" was originally established as "Jiaxing Ostrich Farm" in September 1998. It is currently located in Yanpu Township, Pingtung County, focusing on the breeding and raising of ostriches as its main business. The farm has 13 breeding pairs and can produce more than 600 chicks annually. In response to the diversified management approach of the ostrich industry, in 2007, it participated in the Ministry of Education's Excellence Program in collaboration with National Kaohsiung University of Hospitality and Tourism to implement a “Planning and Marketing Project for an Ostrich Green Leisure Farm.” The ostrich farm was transformed into a weekend leisure farm, integrating tourism, recreation, education, and ostrich cuisine. The leisure farm plans to cultivate fireflies and butterflies, allowing visitors to enjoy ostrich delicacies while also learning about the growth process of ostriches and the ecology of the firefly and butterfly cultivation areas. The farm is designed with six main areas: DIY teaching area, fish watching and water play area, ostrich cuisine restaurant, singing and tea tasting area, ostrich ecology area, and an eco-friendly farm (decorated with waste tire eco-friendly flower pots). It aims to become the largest ostrich tourism farm in Taiwan.
