Ostrich Home Leisure Farm Introduction
"Big Ostrich Home Leisure Farm" was originally established as "Chia Hsing Ostrich Farm" in September 1998. The farm is located in Yanpu Township, Pingtung County, and primarily focuses on the breeding and raising of ostriches, with 13 breeding pairs that can produce over 600 chicks each year. In response to the diversification of the ostrich industry, in 2007, the farm participated in the Ministry of Education's Excellence Program and collaborated with National Kaohsiung University of Hospitality and Tourism on the "Planning and Marketing of an Ostrich Green Leisure Farm and Gourmet Product Design." The ostrich farm was transformed into a weekend leisure farm, integrating tourism, leisure, education, and ostrich cuisine. The leisure farm plans to cultivate "fireflies and butterflies," allowing visitors to enjoy ostrich delicacies while learning about the growth of ostriches and the ecology of the firefly and butterfly nurturing areas. The farm is planned to have six main areas: DIY teaching area, fish viewing and water play area, ostrich gourmet restaurant, karaoke and tea tasting area, ostrich ecology area, and an eco-friendly farm (decorated with recycled tire plant pots). The aim is to become the largest ostrich tourism farm in Taiwan.
