Ostrich Farm Leisure Farm Introduction
"Big Ostrich House Leisure Farm," originally known as "Jiaxing Ostrich Farm," was established in September 1998. Currently located in Yanpu Township, Pingtung County, the farm primarily focuses on the breeding and raising of ostriches, with 13 breeding pairs producing over 600 chicks each year. In response to the diversification of the ostrich industry, in 2007, the farm participated in the Ministry of Education's Excellence Program and collaborated with the National Kaohsiung University of Hospitality and Tourism on the "Planning and Experience Marketing of Ostrich Green Leisure Farm and Culinary Product Design," transforming the ostrich farm into a leisure farm suitable for holidays, combining tourism, recreation, education, and ostrich cuisine. The leisure farm plans to cultivate fireflies and butterflies, allowing guests to enjoy ostrich delicacies while learning about the growth process of ostriches and the ecology of the firefly and butterfly cultivation areas. The farm is divided into six major sections: DIY Teaching Area, Fish Viewing and Play Area, Ostrich Cuisine Restaurant, Singing and Tea Tasting Area, Ostrich Ecology Area, and Eco-Farm (a farm decorated with recycled tire flower pots), with the hope of becoming Taiwan's largest ostrich tourism farm.
