Shimen Historical Battlefield Introduction
Shimen Battle Site is located at the border of Checheng Township and Mudan Township. It features a strategically important pass between Shimu Mountain, which is 370 meters above sea level, and Wuchong River Mountain, at 450 meters. Walking along the trails on the steep rocky cliffs, braving the mountain winds and scorching sun, requires extra caution. Upon reaching the summit, a monument inscribed with "Clarify the Sea and Restore Our Rivers and Mountains" stands before you. This memorial honors the bravery of those who lost their lives in the past. Reading the inscriptions on the monument evokes memories of the fierce conditions of that historic battle, stirring feelings of sorrow.
