Shimen Historic Battlefield Introduction
The Shimen Ancient Battlefield is located at the border of Checheng Township and Mudan Township. It is a strategically important pass situated between Shimumountain at an elevation of 370 meters and Wuchong Creek Mountain at an elevation of 450 meters. Walking along the narrow trails on the steep rock walls, facing the mountain winds and scorching sun, requires extra caution. Once reaching the summit, a monument inscribed with "Clearing the Sea and Returning Our Rivers and Mountains" stands before you, commemorating the bravery of those who lost their lives in the past. Reading the inscription on the stone, one cannot help but reminisce about the tragic events of that battle, evoking a sense of sorrow.
