Jade Valley Indigenous Plant Life Education Park Introduction
"Jiadev Valley," in the Paiwan language called "gidaku," means "located below the village." In the past, it was part of the Mudan community and served as a gathering place for members of various tribes to exchange ideas. Due to the loss of ecological and plant application knowledge accumulated by ancestors over hundreds of years, and the significant outflow of the tribal population leading to a disconnection in traditional language and tribal historical culture, the tribe members decided to establish an association to operate the "Jiadev Valley Indigenous Plant Life Education Park" as a base for cultural heritage and tourism development. In addition to offering Paiwan-style meals, the park grows organically certified herbs for various herbal products and showcases tribal handicrafts to promote Indigenous craftsmanship.
