Jia De Gu Indigenous Plant Life Education Park Introduction
Jiadeku, in the Paiwan language called "gidaku," means "located at the bottom of the village." In the past, it belonged to Mudan Community and served as a place for members of various tribes to gather and exchange views. In light of the ecological and plant application knowledge accumulated by ancestors over hundreds of years gradually being lost due to the changes over time and the significant outflow of the tribal population, which caused a fracture in traditional language and tribal historical culture, tribal members decided to establish an association to manage the "Jiadeku Indigenous Plant Life Education Park" as a base for cultural transmission and tourism development. In addition to providing Paiwan-style cuisine, they also grow organically certified herbs for various herbal products and showcase tribal handicrafts to promote the aesthetic of indigenous craftsmanship.
