Jade Valley Indigenous Plant Life Education Park Introduction
Jiadegu, in Paiwan language known as "gidaku," means "located below the village." It was formerly part of the Mudan community and served as a gathering place for members of various tribes to exchange opinions. In light of the hundreds of years of ecological and botanical knowledge accumulated by ancestors, which has gradually eroded over time due to the massive outflow of the tribal population, leading to a disconnection in traditional languages and tribal history, the tribal members decided to establish an association to operate the "Jiadegu Indigenous Plant Life Education Park." This park serves as a base for cultural heritage and tourism development, providing Paiwan cuisine and cultivating certified organic herbs for various herbal products, as well as showcasing tribal handicrafts to promote indigenous craftsmanship aesthetics.
