Jia-de Valley Indigenous Plant Life Education Park Introduction
Jiade Valley, known as "gidaku" in the Paiwan language, means "located at the bottom of the village." In the past, it belonged to the Mudan community and served as a gathering place for the members of various tribes to exchange ideas. Considering the ecological and plant application knowledge accumulated by ancestors over the centuries has gradually dwindled over time, along with a significant outflow of the tribe's population, leading to a disconnect in traditional language and tribal historical culture, the tribe members decided to establish an association to manage the "Jiade Valley Indigenous Plant Lifestyle Education Park." This park serves as a base for cultural heritage and tourism development. In addition to offering Paiwan-style cuisine, it cultivates organically certified herbs for various herbal products and showcases tribal handicrafts to promote the aesthetic of indigenous craftsmanship.
