Jade Valley Indigenous Plant Life Education Park Introduction
Jiadeku, in Paiwan language, means "located below the village." In the past, it was part of the Mudan community and served as a gathering place for tribal members to exchange ideas. Recognizing the gradual loss of ecological and botanical knowledge accumulated by ancestors over hundreds of years, as well as the impact of significant population outflow leading to gaps in traditional language and tribal historical culture, the tribal members decided to establish an association to manage the "Jiadeku Indigenous Plant Life Education Park." This serves as a base for cultural transmission and tourism development. In addition to offering Paiwan cuisine, they cultivate certified organic herbs for various herbal products and sell tribal handicrafts to promote Indigenous craftsmanship aesthetics.
