Lalaulan Tribe Introduction
This is a very unique Paiwan tribe. The tribe originally lived on Xianglan Mountain but was forced to come down during the Japanese occupation, and after several relocations, it settled in the current location of New Xianglan, where it coexists with the Amis people. Therefore, every July, the Amis Harvest Festival is held here in New Xianglan, along with the Paiwan Harvest Festival. Not long after entering the Lalaulan tribe, you can see the tribe's reception center, which also serves as an important hub for tribal industry development, the millet craft workshop. The Lalaulan tribe is dedicated to promoting millet cultivation, and there is a two-hectare millet field on the hillside behind the village. Recently, the concept of health has become popular, and the benefits of millet are gradually being recognized. In the Lalaulan tribe, there is a famous indigenous writer, Yaron Long Sakanu, whose first book, "Wild Boar, Flying Squirrel, Sakanu," uses vivid and interesting language to convey indigenous people's protection of the environment and respect for nature. 【Source: Tribe Backpackers, Feng Taitung, Tribal Travel Guide】
