Lalauan Village Introduction
This is a unique Paiwan tribal village. The village originally was located on Xianglan Mountain but was forced to descend during the Japanese colonial period. After several relocations, it settled in the current location of New Xianglan, where it coexists with the Amis people. Therefore, every July, the Amis Harvest Festival and the Paiwan Harvest Festival are held here in New Xianglan. Not long after entering the Lalauan Village, you can see the community reception center, which also serves as an important base for the village's industrial development, the millet craft workshop. Lalauan Village is committed to promoting millet cultivation, with a two-hectare millet field located on the hillside behind the village. Recently, the concept of health has become popular, and the benefits of millet have gradually gained attention. In Lalauan Village, there is a renowned indigenous writer, Ayron Long Sakunu. His first book, "Wild Boar, Flying Squirrel, Sakunu," conveys the indigenous people's perspective on environmental protection and respect for nature through vivid and engaging language. 【Source: Tribal Backpacker, Rich Taitung, Tribal Travel Guide】
