Lalauan Village Introduction
This is a very unique Paiwan indigenous tribe. The tribe originally resided on Xianglan Mountain but was forced to descend during the Japanese occupation and has undergone several migrations to the current location of New Xianglan, where they now coexist with the Amis people. Therefore, every July, a harvest festival of the Paiwan people is held here in New Xianglan along with the Amis harvest festival. Not long after entering the Lalauan tribe, you can see the tribe's reception center, which also serves as an important base for the development of the tribe's industry, the millet workshop. The Lalauan tribe is dedicated to promoting millet cultivation, with two hectares of millet fields planted on the hillside behind the village. Recently, the concept of health and wellness has become popular, and the benefits of millet are gradually being recognized. There is a well-known indigenous writer in the Lalauan tribe named Yaronglong Sakun, whose first book "Wild Boars, Flying Squirrels, and Sakun" conveys the indigenous people's respect for nature and the importance of environmental protection through vivid and interesting language.
