National Tsing Hua University Introduction
National Tsing Hua University is located on the northern slope of Shih Shan in Hsinchu City, covering an area of over 80 hectares. The campus is lush with greenery and famous for its delightful scenery, including Chenggong Lake, Kunming Lake, Meiyuan (Plum Garden), and Meigu (Plum Valley). Chenggong Lake, an artificially excavated lake with a vast surface area, features a small bridge leading to a pavilion in the center, with willows swaying along its banks and the occasional white egret gracing its waters, creating a vibrant and charming view. Kunming Lake is small and exquisite, dotted with lotus leaves, while the opposite shore showcases a flowering bougainvillea corridor, adding to its charm. Meiyuan, established in memory of President Mei Yi-chi, is home to over 400 sea trees, and each spring, the orchard is adorned with dazzling white plum blossoms, making it one of the most famous sights at Tsing Hua. Meigu, the location of the College of Humanities, is home to Xiangsi Lake, with towering Moso bamboo by the lake and white egrets flying low over the water, giving Meigu the appearance of a harmonious landscape painting. On November 1, 2016, it merged with National Hsinchu University of Education, retaining the name "National Tsing Hua University," while the former National Hsinchu University is now known as the "Nanda Campus."
