Hsiang Kuo University Introduction
Hsianshang University, although the youngest university in the Hsinchu area, is named after the Buddhist master Xuanzang. Despite its name, the campus does not carry a heavy religious atmosphere; instead, it is filled with greenery and vitality. Founded by Master Liaozhong, the university embodies the philosophy of "promoting the spirit of Xuanzang through education and cultivating talents for the benefit of society." The Humanities and Social Sciences College was established in 1997, and in 2004, it was upgraded to Hsianshang University. The place on campus most infused with Buddhist ambiance is the History Museum, which displays historical artifacts related to the founding of the university and houses the most treasured "school's precious item," the cranial relic of the Tang Dynasty Master Xuanzang, a valuable artifact unearthed in Nanjing in 1942.
