Wenshan Farm Introduction
Wenshan Farm, located in the Quchirli area of Xindian District, is situated in the foothills between Xindian MRT Station and the Wulai Scenic Area. It boasts beautiful tea garden landscapes and refreshing air. The Xindian River meanders past the farm from beneath Quchir Mountain to the north, offering rich ecological diversity. The park features a camping area, picnic area, medicinal plant specimen area, recreational activity area, family contracted garden, tea art area, conference hall, tea-making study center, agricultural product exhibition center, children's playground, and more, making it a new recreational hub in the Taipei and New Taipei areas. Wenshan Farm, as the center for tea improvement in Taiwan, was established during the Japanese occupation as the "Tea Industry Training Institute." Since its inception, it has been dedicated to the transmission of Taiwan's tea production and improvement techniques. The farm's red-brick tea factory, the only preserved teahouse with a chimney in Taiwan, is an important landmark of the farm. In recent years, Wenshan Farm has transformed into a leisure farm, receiving organic tea garden certification in 2013 and obtaining the first farm registration certificate in New Taipei City in 2017. It is also the venue for the annual "Taipei City and New Taipei City Wenshan Baozhong Tea Processing Technique Competition." Currently operated by the New Taipei City Farmers' Association, Wenshan Farm is capable of hosting activities such as camping, barbecuing, and outdoor weddings, making it a popular site for outdoor teaching for primary and secondary schools, as well as orientation events for colleges and universities. The farm also offers a one-day tour package, which includes tea culture experiences and unique DIY classes, allowing visitors to engage deeply in the process of tea picking, tea production, and tea brewing. Furthermore, Wenshan Farm is the largest firefly habitat in the Taipei and New Taipei area, making it an excellent spot for firefly watching!
