Wenshan Farm Introduction
Wenshan Farm in Quchir Village, Xindian District, is located in the foothills between Xindian MRT Station and the Wulai Scenic Area, featuring beautiful tea garden views and fresh air. The Xindian River meanders past the northern side of the farm, nestled at the foot of Quchir Mountain, offering a rich ecological environment. The site includes camping areas, barbecuing spots, a medicinal plant specimen area, recreational activity zones, family gardens, tea arts areas, conference halls, a tea-making workshop, an agricultural product exhibition center, and a children's playground, making it a new leisure hub in the Taipei and New Taipei areas. Wenshan Farm, the tea improvement center of Taiwan, was established during the Japanese colonial era as a tea industry training institute and has been dedicated to the transmission of tea production and improvement techniques in Taiwan. The farm's red-brick tea factory is currently the only tea factory in Taiwan that retains a chimney and serves as an important landmark. In recent years, Wenshan Farm has been transitioning towards a leisure farm model, having achieved organic tea garden certification in 2013 and becoming the first farm in New Taipei to obtain a farm registration certificate in 2017. It is also the annual venue for the "Taipei City and New Taipei City Wenshan Baozhong Tea Production Technology Competition." Currently operated by the New Taipei City Farmers Association, Wenshan Farm can host activities such as camping, barbecuing, and outdoor weddings, and is a popular venue for outdoor education for elementary and high school students as well as welcome events for colleges. The farm also offers one-day tour programs, including tea culture experiences and unique DIY classes, guiding visitors through the entire process of tea picking, production, and brewing. Wenshan Farm is also the largest firefly habitat in the Taipei and New Taipei areas, making it an excellent spot for firefly watching!
