Wenshan Farm Introduction
Wenshan Farm in Quchir Village, Xindian District, is located in the foothills between Xindian MRT Station and Wulai Scenic Area. It features beautiful tea plantation scenery and refreshing air, with the Xindian River winding past the farm from the north side of Quchir Mountain, supporting a rich ecosystem. The area includes a camping zone, picnic area, medicinal plant specimen area, leisure activity area, family special garden, tea art area, conference hall, tea making study center, agricultural product exhibition center, children's playground, and more, making it a new leisure hub in the Taipei and New Taipei areas. The Wenshan Farm, serving as the center for the improvement of Taiwanese tea, was established as the "Tea Industry Training Institute" during the Japanese colonial period and has since been dedicated to the preservation of Taiwanese tea production and improvement techniques. The red brick tea factory on the farm is currently the only tea factory in Taiwan that retains its chimney, making it an important landmark of the farm. In recent years, Wenshan Farm has transformed into a leisure farm, obtaining organic tea farm certification in 2013 and becoming the first registered farm in New Taipei City in 2017. It is also the host site for the annual "Taipei and New Taipei Wenshan Baozhong Tea Making Technique Competition." Currently managed by the New Taipei City Farmers' Association, Wenshan Farm can host activities such as camping, barbecuing, and outdoor weddings, and is a popular venue for outdoor teaching for primary and secondary schools, as well as university orientation activities. The farm also offers a one-day tour program, including tea culture experiences and unique DIY classes, allowing visitors to engage deeply in the process of tea picking, production, and brewing. Wenshan Farm is also the largest firefly habitat in the Taipei area, making it an excellent spot for firefly watching in New Taipei!
