Wenshan Farm Introduction
Wenshan Farm in Quchi Li, Xindian District, is located in the foothills along the route from Xindian Metro Station to the Wulai Scenic Area. It boasts beautiful tea plantation views and refreshing air, with the riverside Xindian Creek winding through the northern side of the farm at the foot of Quchi Mountain, showcasing rich ecology. The park features camping areas, picnic areas, medicinal plant specimen areas, leisure activity areas, family gardens, tea art areas, conference halls, tea-making workshops, agricultural product exhibition centers, children's playgrounds, and more, making it a new leisure destination in the Taipei-New Taipei area. The Wenshan Farm, known as the Taiwan Tea Improvement Center, was originally a "Tea Industry Training Institute" during the Japanese occupation and has been dedicated to the inheritance of Taiwan's tea production and improvement techniques. The red-brick tea factory onsite, which is the only surviving tea factory with a chimney in Taiwan, serves as an important landmark for the farm. In recent years, Wenshan Farm has transformed into a leisure farm, receiving organic tea plantation certification in 2013 and obtaining the first farm registration certificate in New Taipei City in 2017. It is also the venue for the annual "Taipei and New Taipei City Wenshan Baozhong Tea Production Technique Competition". Currently managed by the New Taipei City Agricultural Association, Wenshan Farm can host activities such as camping, barbecues, and outdoor weddings, making it a popular site for outdoor teaching for elementary and secondary schools, as well as welcoming activities for universities. The farm also offers one-day tour packages, including tea culture experiences and unique DIY classes, allowing visitors to deeply engage in the processes of tea picking, production, and brewing. Additionally, Wenshan Farm is the largest firefly habitat in the Taipei-New Taipei area, making it an excellent spot for firefly watching!
