Wenshan Farm Introduction
Wenshan Farm in Quchi Village, Xindian District, is located in the hilly area between Xindian MRT Station and the Wulai Scenic Area. It features beautiful tea garden views and fresh, pleasant air, with the Xindian River meandering past the northern side of the farm at the foot of Quchi Mountain, boasting rich ecology. The park includes camping areas, picnic areas, a medicinal plant specimen area, recreational activity zones, family reserved gardens, a tea art area, meeting halls, a tea-making workshop, an agricultural product exhibition center, a children's playground, and more, making it a new leisure hub in the Greater Taipei area. The Wenshan Farm, the center for tea cultivation improvement in Taiwan, was established as the "Tea Industry Training Institute" during the Japanese colonial period and has been dedicated to the inheritance of tea production and improvement techniques in Taiwan since its inception. The red-brick tea factory within the farm is currently the only tea factory in Taiwan that retains its chimney, serving as an important landmark of the farm. In recent years, Wenshan Farm has transformed into a leisure farm, obtaining organic tea garden certification in 2013 and the first farm registration certificate in New Taipei City in 2017. It is also the venue for the annual "Taipei City and New Taipei City Wenshan Baozhong Tea Production Technology Competition." Managed by the New Taipei Farmers' Association, Wenshan Farm currently hosts various activities such as camping, barbecues, and outdoor weddings, making it a popular site for outdoor teaching for elementary and middle schools as well as orientation activities for universities. The farm offers a one-day tour that includes tea culture experiences and unique DIY workshops, allowing visitors to deeply engage in the processes of tea picking, tea making, and tea brewing. Wenshan Farm is also the largest firefly habitat in the Greater Taipei area, making it an excellent spot for firefly viewing in New Taipei.
