New Taipei City Government Building Introduction
The New Taipei City Government Building was completed and opened on March 24, 2003. It is a 33-story building above ground, with 4 basement levels, standing at a height of 140.5 meters, designed to be a high-tech and smart building, aiming to provide high-quality and efficient services to the citizens of New Taipei City. The city government building is connected to the Banqiao Station, which integrates Taiwan Railways, High-Speed Rail, and Metro, as well as the long-distance bus station and the bus station through underground corridors along Xinfu Road and Xinzhan Road, making transportation convenient and accessible. In addition to providing employees with a quality office environment, the building offers multifunctional service locations such as a daycare center, restaurant, bakery, skyview restaurant, and observation deck. The lobby on the first floor features a public space for exhibitions, connected to a citizen plaza that is filled with lush greenery and often hosts various folk and cultural performances. Citizens can visit this shared space to rest and walk, experiencing the architectural and artistic displays that reflect the city's move towards internationalization. Beyond being an administrative center, the New Taipei City Government Building also plays a vital role as a disaster response and traffic control hub. The city’s disaster response center and traffic control center are located on the 9th floor of the government building. With the establishment of the traffic control center, important traffic intersections across the city can be managed appropriately, adjusting peak traffic flows and alleviating congestion through signal transmissions. The disaster response center connects citywide disaster situations and sites via satellite communication and SNG links, allowing for comprehensive monitoring of disaster conditions, enabling the best disaster response measures to be taken promptly to ensure the safety of citizens' lives and property.
