Dajia Iron Anvil Mountain Scenic Area Introduction
Iron Anvil Mountain is located at the northeastern corner of Dajia Township, on the southern bank of the lower Daan River, serving as the climatic boundary between northern and southern Taiwan, and a crucial stopover for migratory birds returning to the north. The summit features several square kilometers of flat land shaped like a truncated pyramid, resembling a giant anvil from a distance, which is how it got its name. Throughout history, Iron Anvil Mountain has been the subject of many legends and was once listed as one of the Eight Scenic Spots of Central Taiwan, long recognized as a landmark of Dajia. From the summit, you can enjoy the panoramic views of the winding Dajia and Daan rivers, the white-capped waves of the Taiwan Strait in the distance, and the clearly defined farmlands and villages below, offering breathtaking scenery. The scenic area is rich in cultural and historical sites, such as Jianjing and Guoxing Temple, which are ancient monuments full of legendary significance; the Sculpture Square, carefully planned to promote the integration of art and life; and other diverse attractions like the Sculpture Park, the National Armed Forces Memorial Park (Weapon Gallery), and Yongxin Sports Park, all adding to the richness of Iron Anvil Mountain's offerings. In recent years, it has become a popular spot for families, with themes centered on culture, history, natural landscapes, and outdoor sports. To promote tourism at Iron Anvil Mountain, regular guided tours are conducted every Sunday morning, with the first session from 09:00 to 10:00 and the second session from 10:30 to 11:30 (suspended during major holidays, consecutive holidays, or make-up class days). Visitors are encouraged to take advantage of this service, with a meeting point at the entrance of the Iron Anvil Mountain Visitor Center, where volunteers are available to assist without prior registration.
