Dajia Iron Anvil Mountain Scenic Area Introduction
Tiezhanshan, located in the northeastern corner of Dajia Township on the southern bank of the lower Daan River, serves as the climatic boundary between northern and southern Taiwan and is also an important turning point for migratory birds returning to the northern regions. The mountain's summit features several square kilometers of flat land, shaped like a truncated cone, resembling a giant anvil from afar, which is how it got its name. Tiezhanshan has been associated with numerous legends over the ages and was once listed as one of the eight scenic spots in central Taiwan, making it a well-known landmark in Dajia. From the top, visitors can take in the winding Dajia and Daan Rivers below, the turbulent waters of the Taiwan Strait in the distance, and the clearly delineated farmlands and villages, creating a breathtaking view. The scenic area is rich in cultural and historical sites—such as Jianjing and Guoxin Temple, which are full of legendary historical significance; and a sculpture plaza, meticulously planned to promote the integration of art into daily life. Other attractions include a sculpture park, the National Armed Forces Memorial Park (Weapons Exhibition), and Yongxin Sports Park, all offering diverse and rich experiences at Tiezhanshan. In recent years, the area has become a popular weekend destination focusing on family interaction, cultural history, natural scenery, and sports camping. To enhance the promotion of Tiezhanshan tourism, guided tours are offered every Sunday morning, with the first session from 9:00 to 10:00 and the second session from 10:30 to 11:30 (suspended on major holidays, long weekends, or make-up workdays). Visitors are welcome to utilize this service, and groups of more than 15 people are encouraged to fill out the reservation application form found in the attachments. Accessing Tiezhanshan Scenic Area from Chenggong Road in Dajia District, the hiking trails are vibrant with blooming flowers and abundant greenery, filled with the fragrance of the wildflowers. At night, the view from above showcases the glow of thousands of lights mingling with the stars. Recommended attractions in Dajia Tiezhanshan include:
