Iron Anvil Mountain Scenic Area Introduction
Tiezhanshan is located in the northeast corner of Dajia Township, on the southern bank of the Daan River downstream, serving as the climatic boundary between northern and southern Taiwan. It is also an important turning point for migratory birds returning to their northern habitats. The summit features several dozen square kilometers of flatland, shaped like a truncated cone, and the entire mountain resembles a giant anvil from a distance, hence its name. Tiezhanshan has been surrounded by numerous legends and was once listed as one of the eight scenic spots in central Taiwan; it has long been a landmark famous far and wide in Dajia. From the top of the mountain, one can gaze upon the winding Dajia and Daan rivers, the turbulent waves of the Taiwan Strait in the distance, and the clearly defined farmland and villages up close, offering stunning views. The scenic area is rich in cultural and historical sites, such as Jianjing and Guoxing Temple, which are legendary monuments; there is a sculptural plaza with deep cultural connotations, carefully planned to promote the integration of art into everyday life; other attractions include Sculpture Park, the National Armed Forces Memorial Park (Armaments Exhibition), and Yongxin Sports Park, all showcasing the diverse and rich attractions of Tiezhanshan. In recent years, it has become a popular destination on weekends, focusing on themes such as family activities, cultural history, natural scenery, and sports camping. To enhance the promotion of Tiezhanshan tourism, regular guided tour services are provided every Sunday morning, with the first session from 09:00 to 10:00 and the second session from 10:30 to 11:30 (service is suspended during major holidays, long weekends, or makeup workdays). Visitors are welcome to make full use of this service, and individuals can gather at the Tiezhanshan Visitor Center entrance, where volunteers will assist you without the need for prior registration; however, groups exceeding 15 people are advised to complete a reservation form. Entering the designated hiking health trail of Tiezhanshan Scenic Area from Chenggong Road in Dajia District, one is greeted with vibrant flowers and greenery, and the fragrance of wildflowers fills the air. At night, looking down from a height, the lights of countless homes and the starry sky reflect beautifully against each other. Recommended nearby attractions of Dajia Tiezhanshan include:
