This archway is a two-story granite structure with four pillars and three openings. It is surrounded by a fence, and there are multiple couplets carved on both sides of the fence's gate pillars and on all four sides of the archway pillars, which is a rare feature compared to other archways. The top eaves of the archway display a plaque reading "Imperial Edict," representing the highest honor.

Lin's Filial Piety Archway Introduction

This is a narrative about a devoted daughter-in-law named Lin, who was built by the Lin family. Lin is the daughter of Lin Guanghui from Zhongzhuang Village in Daan District. Due to her family's poverty, she was given to the Yu family as a child bride shortly after her birth. When Lin was twelve, her husband, Yu Rongchang, unfortunately drowned. Her father hoped she would return home and remarry, but Lin Chun-niang could not bear to abandon her mother-in-law. To support her mother-in-law, she worked diligently in spinning and weaving, taking on laundry and miscellaneous tasks. Although her income was modest, she remained hardworking and uncomplaining, often going hungry while saving the good food for her mother-in-law and subsisting on rice porridge. Her filial piety was consistent and earned her widespread praise in the community. Guided tours: □ Available ■ Not available □ Reservation required
