Shuiliu East Tung Flower Trail Introduction
The Shui Liudong Tung Flower Trail, located in Waipu District, has a total length of 2.4 km. Formerly known as the Shui Liudong Lover's Path, it was renamed the Tung Flower Trail in 2009. Local residents have planted Tung trees along the irrigation channels, creating a scene of Tung flowers falling like snow between April and May each year. Shui Liudong used to be an irrigation channel where water generally flows westward, but this channel rises from west to east. With an elevated view, the trail passes by vineyards and tomato fields, and includes the High-Speed Rail Observation Deck located beside the Shui Liudong Tung Flower Trail, which is the closest observation deck to the High-Speed Rail. Visitors can watch the fast-moving trains in accordance with the installed timetable, making it suitable for walking and cycling, and it's a local secret spot for Waipu residents. At Yongfeng Village's Tung Flower Trail, follow the irrigation channels along the trail, passing by rice fields and orchards. The channel in the middle turns towards a slope known as "Shuichongdu," with a drop of about 10 floors; when there's a large water flow, it rushes down like a flood. In the sultry weather, enjoy the coolness along the trail. When you arrive, it's recommended to slow down and let your steps meander through the aromatic wilderness, while listening to the sounds of insects and birds. You can also look out at the speeding High-Speed Rail and the patches of farmland from a corner of the trail. Of course, feel free to bring food and have a picnic with friends and family in a high spot, spending a leisurely time together.
