Luowu Academy Introduction
The Yuzhang Hall and Luo House Academy is located within a radius of about 500 to 600 meters formed by the Niulan River and the Fengshan Creek. This beautiful natural settlement scene was also captured by Chi Po-lin in the documentary "Beyond Beauty: Taiwan from Above." Hoping to preserve the old house and pass on Hakka cultural memories such as bamboo weaving, making vegetable packages, and irrigation with waterwheels, Luo Shilong resigned from his job and returned to his ancestral old residence to join the efforts to preserve the old houses in Guanxi. Experiencing rural life in a Hakka ancient house designed in a 4-square layout in a Sanhe courtyard is absolutely stunning on the first sight. Once the private school and study of the Luo family, it boasts western-style decorative carvings on the walls, offering temple-level exquisite wall decorations even though it is a typical residential house. The Luo House Academy now offers part of its space as a guesthouse, with vintage guest rooms and kitchens providing an excellent venue to experience Hakka village culture. The spacious Sanhe courtyard can also transform into a camping site where children can run freely and play. Every July and November, visitors can enjoy the golden sea of rice in the courtyard and play in the maze of rice paddies.
