Xinan Lake Mouth Hsien Sheng Temple Introduction
Xiansheng Temple, located in a bustling area, boasts a magnificent structure with grand halls. The entrance is adorned with two ancient-style archways. Standing in the expansive temple grounds, one can see concrete buildings on either side, with a stage situated between the two archways, used for entertaining the gods and people during festivals. At the front of the SanChuan Gate, a pair of stone lions stand guard. Climbing up to the front porch of the SanChuan Hall, one will find the walls adorned with exquisite stone carvings crafted by devoted artisans. Crossing the threshold into the SanChuan Hall, this is where devotees first pay their respects. Looking towards the courtyard, the interplay of light and shadow enhances the mystical depth and solemnity of the main hall. The left side hall contains an office, while the right side hall enshrines Yue Fei, Bao Gong, and gods worshipped by the faithful. Turning left past the side hall and facing the main hall brings a sense of splendid opulence, with attention to detail evident everywhere. The main deity is the Holy Mother, with the left shrine dedicated to the Goddess of Birth and the right shrine to the Nine Heavens Mysterious Girl. On the second floor, the main worship is dedicated to Guanyin Buddha, alongside offerings to Guan Yu and Confucius, with simple and unadorned furnishings. The "Xiansheng Temple" designates the 23rd day of the third lunar month for the Holy Mother's birthday celebration, organized by the devotees from the local villages in rotation each year.
