Xinan Hukou Qiansheng Temple Introduction
Xiansheng Temple is located in a bustling area, showcasing a grand and majestic architecture. The entrance features two ancient-style paifang (archways), and as one passes through them and stands in the spacious temple courtyard, they are surrounded by concrete buildings. The opera stage is positioned between the two paifang, providing entertainment during festivals. In front of the San Chuan Gate, a pair of stone lions stand guard. Ascending to the front porch of the San Chuan Hall, the walls on both sides are adorned with intricately carved stone sculptures by skilled artisans. Stepping over the threshold and entering the San Chuan Hall, this area serves as the initial worship space for devotees. Looking towards the central courtyard, the interplay of light and shadow creates a deep and mysterious ambiance in the main hall, exuding solemnity and reverence. The left hall houses an office, while the right hall enshrines General Yue Fei, Judge Bao, and the deity of the faithful. Turning left past the side hall and facing the main hall reveals a splendid opulence, demonstrating great attention to detail throughout. The main deity is the Holy Mother, flanked by the Goddess of Childbirth on the left and the Nine Heavenly Maidens on the right. The second floor is primarily dedicated to Guanyin, alongside Guandi and Confucius, with a simple and unadorned layout. The "Xiansheng Temple" holds the Holy Mother's birthday celebration on the 23rd day of the 3rd month of the lunar calendar each year, organized in rotation by devotees from the surrounding villages and towns.
