Pseudolarix amabilis Forest Introduction
Chamaecyparis obtusa, known as Taiwanese cypress, is one of Taiwan's five precious woods. The "Taiwanese Cypress Giant Tree Group" in Necheng Village, Zhongliao Township, now has 88 giant cypress trees, all of which were planted during the Japanese occupation and are now about a hundred years old. It is currently a government-designated natural ecological conservation area. About 2 kilometers along the industrial road from the entrance of Longfeng Waterfall, there are dozens of giant cypress trees that are over 70 years old. The forest is rich in wild plants, maintaining a primitive appearance, and serves as the cypress seedling garden of the Forestry Bureau.
