Longxing Suspension Bridge Introduction
Longxing Suspension Bridge has been in existence for over 100 years. Originally constructed as a temporary bridge made of bamboo, it was an essential bridge for villagers transporting sugarcane during the Japanese occupation. After being washed away by floods twice, the current cable-stayed bridge was built higher up at the same location. Designed and contracted by the Soil and Water Conservation Bureau, it is the first openwork suspension bridge in Asia, measuring 165 meters in length, holding significant commemorative and scenic value.
