Zhenxing Temple Introduction

The appearance of Zhenxing Temple may seem plain and unremarkable, but it is the site where the tablet honoring the founder of Qikan Martial Arts, Master A-Shan, is enshrined. Next to Zhenxing Temple is the Zhenxing Society, which was the martial arts school established by Master A-Shan. From the entrance archway to the cemetery of Master A-Shan behind the temple, one can see the historical connection between Qikan in Xiluo and the development of the area. When mentioning Qikan Martial Arts in Xiluo, one cannot overlook Master A-Shan (Liu Ming-Shan), who settled in Xiluo after arriving in Taiwan in 1828 (the eighth year of the Daoguang reign). As he was skilled in martial arts, he opened a martial arts school there, training disciples and promoting the martial spirit in Xiluo. The cemetery of Master A-Shan behind Zhenxing Temple was not where he was originally buried, but was relocated there by later generations.
