Qikans Sculpture Park Introduction
The birthplace of martial arts, witnessing the local history of Qikan and the early development of Taiwan. In order to protect their homeland, the villagers of Xiluo divided the area into seven sections known as Qikan. Martial arts were widely practiced in the area, and in 1996, a sculpture park was established to commemorate seven martial arts styles through sculptures, serving as a record of local history. The founder of the Qikan Martial Arts Academy, Master A-Shan, learned martial arts from Shaolin Temple and is skilled in Eagle Claw Kung Fu. At that time, rampant banditry in Taiwan severely threatened the lives of the people, leading the martial arts academies in various villages of Qikan to become self-defense training institutions in this urgent situation. Currently, there are several commemorative sites in Yunlin that pay tribute to Xiluo Qikan, including Zhenxing Temple, Master A-Shan Cemetery, Qikan Sculpture Park, Zhang-Liao Shrine, and Guangxing Community, all preserving the spirit of Xiluo Qikan.
