Qikeng Sculpture Park Introduction
The birthplace of martial arts, witnessing the local history of Qikan during the early development of Taiwan. In Xiluo, in order to protect their homeland, the local villages were divided into seven units, known as Qikan. The practice of martial arts was prevalent in the area. In 1996, a sculpture park was established to commemorate the seven martial arts techniques as sculptures, serving as a record of local history. The founder of the Qikan Martial Arts Hall, Master A-Shan, learned martial arts from the Shaolin Temple and was skilled in Eagle Claw Kung Fu. Due to a surge in banditry at that time, which severely threatened the lives of the people, the martial arts halls in the villages of Qikan became self-defense training institutions in response to the urgent situation. Currently, there are several memorial sites in Yunlin commemorating Xiluo Qikan, which can be visited, including Zhenxing Temple, Master A-Shan's Cemetery, Qikan Sculpture Park, Zhang-Liao Shrine, and Guangxing Community, all of which preserve the spirit of Xiluo Qikan.
