Jiangmei Township Seaside Community Coastal Park Introduction
Jiangmei, formerly known as "Gangwei," is named after its geographical location at the tail end of Zhenhai Harbor. Early residents settled here by the Xu River, eventually forming a community that was named Gangwei, and in 1955 it was officially renamed "Jiangmei." The Jiangmei Zhenhai Community Seawall Park connects the Jiangmei and Zhenhai communities. In May 1999, promoted by the community development project of Jiangmei and Zhenhai, this park was designed with a distinctive shape resembling the letters "OK," creating a fun and memorable landmark. The famous Taiwanese band Mayday has recorded a program here and sung a song titled "OK啦," which fits the place and scenery perfectly. The OK landmark is made of cement, adorned with local Penghu materials, known as "laogu" stones. It can be noticed after crossing the Yong'an Bridge along County Road 203, hidden behind low walls and greenery. Nearby, there are wooden stairs and a gazebo as a viewing platform for visitors to rest and enjoy the ocean view, relishing a moment of tranquility and leisure. Beyond the seawall, a vast and expansive view of the shell beach unfolds. The scenery of this seawall park changes with the tides. During high tide, the delicate, flat shell beach and the azure, clear waters lie quietly here, rising and falling with the wind and tides. Gazing into the distance, one can still faintly see Pingzhi Islet and the watchtower of Jiangmei, one of the secret spots, both occupying a corner of the sea, existing in solitude and beauty. 【Recommended Stay Time】1 hour
