Jiangmei Township Haishe Community Seawall Park Introduction
Jiangmei, formerly known as "Gangwei," is named after its geographical location at the end of Zhenhai Harbor. In the early days, the villagers lived in clusters, which over time formed a settlement that was named Gangwei. It was not until 1955 that it was officially renamed "Jiangmei." The Jiangmei Zhenhai Community Breakwater Park connects the Jiangmei Community and the Zhenhai Community. In May 1999, under the initiative of the overall development of Jiangmei and Zhenhai communities, this park was designed to resemble the letters "OK," adding a fun and memorable landmark to the area. The famous Taiwanese band Mayday has also recorded programs here and sung a song titled "OK啦," which perfectly fits the local scenery. The Jiangmei OK landmark, built with cement as the base and adorned with local Penghu特色 stones, is noticeable after passing the Yong'an Bridge along County Road 203. This OK sign is nestled between low walls and greenery; alongside it, there are wooden stairs and a pavilion viewing platform for visitors to take a break, enjoy the seaside views, and savor a moment of tranquility and leisure. Crossing the breakwater, one is greeted by an expansive view of the shell sandy beach and seascape. The changing tides each day brings different aspects to the scenery of this breakwater park. During high tide, the fine and flat shell beach and the azure, crystal-clear waters simply lie still, gently rising and falling with the wind and tide. In the distance, one can faintly see Pingzhi Islet and one of the hidden gems, the Jiangmei Sea Observation Post, each occupying a corner of the sea, existing in solitude and beauty. 【Recommended Stay Time】1 hour
