Jimmy's Theme Nangang Station Introduction

The beloved installation art themed around JiMi can be found at Nangang Station on the Taipei Metro's Bannan Line. Nangang Metro Station boldly introduces the internationally renowned paintings of JiMi, showcasing the station's modernity in a way that is both realistic and aesthetically pleasing. This topic has become one of the most eye-catching aspects since the operation of Nangang Station. There are a total of six large colorful murals in the station, directly enlarged from illustrations in JiMi's bestseller "Metro," which are then produced on enamel plates and embedded into the walls. Only one of these pieces is an entirely new creation, combining representative characters from JiMi's works over the years. The largest mural measures 141 meters in length and 7 meters in height, located on the wall of the waiting platform. Under JiMi's delicate strokes and observations, before the train arrives, the scenes inside are already in full view, featuring a newspaper-reading elder, commuting office workers, and children with no seats, daydreaming of a witch flying past the window, while pigs and rabbits race in the fields alongside the train. These scenes are both amusing and enrich the mundane waiting time with artistic flair. (Source: Taipei City Government Department of Tourism and Information)
