Jimmi Theme Nangang Station Introduction

The beloved installation art by Jimmy Liao can be found at the Nangang Station of the Taipei Metro Bannan Line. The Nangang Metro Station boldly incorporates the internationally renowned paintings of Jimmy Liao, showcasing the modernity of the station with a blend of realism and aesthetic appeal. It is also a highlight since the station's opening. Inside the station, there are a total of six large, colorful murals, which are direct enlargements of illustrations from Jimmy Liao's bestselling book "Subway" burned onto enamel panels and embedded in the walls. Only one of these is a new creation that features representative characters from Jimmy Liao's works over the years. The largest mural measures 141 meters in length and 7 meters in height, found on the wall of the waiting platform. Through Jimmy Liao's delicate touch and observation, passengers can see a glimpse of life on the train before it arrives, including an elderly man reading a newspaper, a commuting office worker, and a child without a seat daydreaming about a witch flying past the window, while pigs and rabbits race across fields, creating a fun scene that enriches the otherwise dull wait with artistic leisure.
