Jimmy's Theme Nangang Station Introduction
The beloved theme installation art of Jimmy Liao is hidden within the Nangang Station of the Taipei Metro Bannan Line. Nangang Metro Station boldly introduces the internationally renowned paintings of Jimmy Liao, perfectly showcasing the modernity of the station, blending realism with aesthetics, and becoming one of the most discussed topics since the station's opening. Inside the station, there are a total of six large color murals, directly enlarged and produced on enamel plates from illustrations in Jimmy Liao's bestselling book "Metro" and embedded into the walls, with only one being an entirely new creation that incorporates representative characters from Liao's works over the years. The largest mural measures 141 meters in length and 7 meters in height, located on the wall of the waiting platform. Under Jimmy Liao's delicate brushstrokes and observations, before the arrival of trains, the scene inside the train is already vividly depicted, featuring an elderly man reading the newspaper, commuting office workers, and a bored child without a seat imagining scenes of a witch flying past the window, pigs and rabbits running in the fields, competing with the train, which adds artistic leisure to the monotonous waiting times.
