Jingxin Garden_Songshan Sanatorium Director's Dormitory Introduction
Songshan Sanatorium was established in 1915 and is the earliest tuberculosis containment facility in Taiwan. With the establishment of the Songshan Sanatorium, the director's residence was also created. The director's residence was built after the implementation of the "Standardization of Governor-General's Official Residences" in 1922, which had specific regulations for the establishment of high-ranking officials' residences. Jingxin Yuan (Songshan Sanatorium Director's Residence) is a Japanese-style wooden structure. The design features, such as the installation of rain screens, the double-beam framework of the traditional Japanese-style small houses, spatial layout, and building materials, are largely representative of the construction techniques from the Japanese colonial period. The indoor umbrella-shaped ceiling and the decorative columns flanking the entrance exterior are unique expressions of its cultural asset value. Source: Jingxin Yuan Official Website, Facebook
