On May 17, 2019, Taiwan became the first country in Asia to legalize same-sex marriage. With the efforts of various organizations, on September 25 of the same year, a "Rainbow Six" rainbow landscape was established at Exit 6 of Ximen Station in Taipei City. This symbolizes Taipei City's commitment to respecting human rights and promoting gender equality and friendliness. The new rainbow landscape has also become a popular photo spot in Taipei City.
