Fugang Geological Park (Xiao Yeliu) Introduction
Fugang Geological Park (Little Yehliu) is located off the northern coast of Fugang Fishing Port and is the southernmost scenic spot along the eastern coast. Due to its topography and rock types resembling those of Yehliu in the north, it is referred to as "Little Yehliu." The park features a visitor center, shops, camping areas, and seaside trails. Here, visitors can appreciate various unique rock formations, enjoy the sea, watch fish, and even glimpse Green Island about 33 kilometers away on clear days. Camping here offers a novel experience of falling asleep to the sound of the sea under the night sky. The stunning landscapes created by marine and geological changes over time have resulted in spectacular tofu rocks and honeycomb rocks, which stand out after thousands of years of erosion. The weathered rock layers form various peculiar rock formations, with the "Big-eyed Frog," "Camel Stone," and "Turtle Array Rock" being the most famous, making them essential photographic subjects when visiting Fugang Geological Park (Little Yehliu). The "Night Visit to Little Yehliu" event runs from April to October each year, where volunteer guides lead visitors to explore the nocturnal ecological environment of Fugang Geological Park (Little Yehliu). Participants can also see hermit crabs living in the park, discovering a different side of Fugang Geological Park (Little Yehliu) after dark, while also helping to provide empty shells for the hermit crabs to find a home.
