Fugang Geopark (Xiao Yeliu) Introduction
Fugang Geological Park (Little Yehliu) is located in the waters north of Fugang Fishing Port, serving as a scenic spot at the southernmost end of the Eastern Coast. Its terrain and rock types resemble those of Yehliu in the north, thus earning the nickname "Little Yehliu." The park features a visitor center, shops, camping areas, and seaside trails. Visitors can enjoy various types of unique rock formations, listen to the waves, and observe fish in the water. On clear days, one can catch a glimpse of Green Island, located approximately 33 kilometers away. Camping here offers the novelty of falling asleep to the sound of the sea under the night sky. The stunning landscapes created by oceanic and tectonic movements have produced spectacular sights such as tofu rocks and honeycomb rocks, shaped by tectonic uplift and thousands of years of ocean erosion. The weathered rock layers create various unique formations, among which the Big-Eyed Frog, Camel Rock, and Turtle Hexagon Rock are the most famous, making them must-see attractions at Fugang Geological Park (Little Yehliu). Each year from April to October, the "Night Visit to Little Yehliu" event is held, where enthusiastic volunteers guide visitors to explore the nighttime ecological environment of Fugang Geological Park (Little Yehliu) and observe the hermit crabs that live there. This experience allows guests to discover another aspect of the park after dark while also helping to collect empty shells to provide homes for the hermit crabs.
