Fugang Geological Park (Xiao Wulu) Introduction
Fugang Geopark (Little Yehliu) is located in the waters north of Fugang Fishing Port and is the southernmost scenic spot on the East Coast. Due to its terrain and the types of rocks being similar to those at Yehliu in the north, it is known as "Little Yehliu." The park features a visitor center, shops, camping areas, and coastal trails. Visitors can enjoy unique rock formations, listen to the waves, watch fish, and even catch a glimpse of Green Island about 33 kilometers away on clear days. Camping here offers the unique experience of falling asleep to the sound of the sea under the night sky. The stunning landscapes created by the ocean and tectonic movements, shaped by geological uplift and millennia of marine erosion, have formed spectacular rock formations such as tofu rock and honeycomb rock that capture travelers' attention. Various unique rock formations have been carved out by weathering, with the most famous being the Big Eye Frog, Camel Rock, and Turtle Array Rock, making them must-see landscapes when visiting Fugang Geopark (Little Yehliu). From April to October each year, the "Night Tour of Little Yehliu" is held, where volunteer guides lead participants through the nocturnal ecological environment of Fugang Geopark (Little Yehliu), allowing them to see hermit crabs that inhabit the area and explore another side of Fugang Geopark (Little Yehliu) after dark. This activity also encourages the collection of empty shells to help hermit crabs find a new home.
