Fugang Geological Park (Xiao Yeh Liu) Introduction
Fugang Geological Park (Little Yehliu) is located in the waters north of Fugang Fishing Port, and is the southernmost scenic spot on the eastern coast. Due to its terrain and rock types being similar in appearance to Yehliu in Beiguan, it is referred to as "Little Yehliu". The park features a visitor center, shops, camping areas, and seaside trails. Visitors can admire different types of fascinating rock formations, enjoy the sea breeze, and watch fish playing in the water. On clear days, it is possible to glimpse Green Island approximately 33 kilometers away. Camping here provides a unique experience of falling asleep to the sounds of the sea under the night sky. The stunning landscapes created by the ocean and tectonic movements, shaped by crustal uplift and millennia of coastal erosion, have led to the spectacular and eye-catching rock formations like tofu rock and honeycomb rock. Various peculiar rock sculptures created by rock weathering are found, with the most famous being the Big-eyed Frog, Camel Rock, and Turtle Formation, which are must-see geological features of Fugang Geological Park (Little Yehliu). The "Night Visit to Little Yehliu" event is held from April to October each year, where enthusiastic volunteer guides lead visitors to explore the nighttime ecological environment of Fugang Geological Park (Little Yehliu). Participants can observe the hermit crabs that inhabit the park, discovering a different side of Fugang Geological Park (Little Yehliu) after dark, while also collecting empty shells to help the hermit crabs find a new home.
