Pengwan Cross-Sea Bridge Introduction
Dapeng Bay National Scenic Area features a scenic bridge at the Dapeng Bay estuary (next to the Qingzhou Recreation Area), which was completed and opened to traffic in March 2011. This is the first opening-type scenic bridge in the country designed to accommodate the entry and exit of sailboats. Future plans include the development of a BOT yacht harbor to allow large sailboats to enter and exit, promoting international-class yacht and marine yacht activities, which will create a "Golden Triangle" of yacht activities along with the Love River tourist wharf in Kaohsiung. The Dapeng Bay Cross-Sea Bridge is 579 meters long and 30 meters wide, with the main tower rising 71 meters above the water's surface, and a maximum height of 17 meters above the water (with a water span of approximately 70 meters). When opened, it has a span of 20 meters to meet the needs of various recreational vessels. The bridge features a single-tower asymmetric single-sided composite cable-stayed design, which is a unique three-dimensional design (in contrast to typical two-dimensional bridge shapes). From the front, it resembles a roc carrying a treasure, from the side it looks like a bending girl, and from the back, it resembles the letter "A." The movable bridge surface can open to a 75-degree angle in just 2 minutes. Every Saturday at 5 PM, there is also a bridge-opening show. At night, it is illuminated, not only enhancing the beautiful landscape imagery but also serving as a landmark for marine operation vessels and recreational activity vessels.
