Pengwan Cross-Sea Bridge Introduction

Dapeng Bay National Scenic Area's round-the-bay road features a scenic bridge at the Dapeng Bay estuary (next to the Qingzhou Recreation Area), which was completed and opened to traffic in March 2011. This bridge is the first of its kind in the country designed to accommodate the entry and exit of sailboats. Future plans include the construction of a BOT yacht harbor, allowing for large sailboats and the development of international-level yacht and marine activities, which will further create a "golden triangle" of yacht activities in conjunction with the Kaohsiung Love River Tourism Port. The Dapeng Bay Cross-Sea Bridge measures 579 meters in length and 30 meters in width, with the main tower reaching a height of 71 meters above the water surface. The bridge rises up to 17 meters above the water (with a water span of approximately 70 meters), and the open span reaches 20 meters to accommodate various types of recreational vessels. Its unique design features a single-tower, asymmetrical, single-sided cable-stayed bridge, characterized by its special three-dimensional design (as opposed to the typical two-dimensional bridge shapes). From the front, it resembles a mythical bird holding an object, from the side, it looks like a bending girl, and from the back, it resembles the letter "A". The movable deck can be raised to a 75-degree angle in just 2 minutes and offers a bridge-opening performance every Saturday at 5 PM. At night, it is illuminated with lights, not only providing a stunning scenic image but also serving as a landmark for marine operation vessels and recreational activity boats.
