Datan Wetland Introduction
The Datan Wetland Ecological Park is located to the northeast of Dapeng Bay, adjacent to Provincial Highway 17, at the southern edge of the Datan community. This area is characterized by low-lying terrain, making it prone to flooding, so it has been planned as an ecological flood retention pool combined with an artificial wetland treatment system. During the rainy season, it can function as a flood retention system, and in the non-rainy season, it can treat household sewage discharged from the Datan community, aquaculture wastewater, non-point source pollution from Provincial Highway 17, and some household sewage from Dapeng Village. The wetland park covers an area of 6 hectares and includes an inlet on the east and west sides, sedimentation tanks, subsurface flow filters (with filtering media made from waste bricks, concrete blocks, gravel, and oyster shells), grass wetlands, shallow water areas, ecological islands, deep water zones, and an outlet. According to classification by the type of artificial wetlands for heavy rainfall runoff, the Datan Wetland falls between the extended retention type and the bag-shaped type. The wetland is home to bird species such as the Black-winged Stilt, Little Egret, Dumpy Egret, Mongolian Dotterel, Eastern Ringed Plover, Pectoral Sandpiper, and Ruin Raven.
