Pengcun Wetland Introduction
Pengcun Wetland covers an area of approximately 10 hectares and is located at the boundary between Linbian Township and Donggang Township. Originally used as a military camp, the site is bordered by unnamed drainage ditches on the eastern side of Datang Village (for external wastewater interception), along with the Nanpu Pond branch and Haifeng Pond branch. This wetland primarily redirects drainage from the eastern community of Datang Village, the Nanpu Pond branch, and the Haifeng Pond branch into the Pengcun Wetland, utilizing natural purification functions to reduce pollution levels before discharging into the Dapeng Bay lagoon. The design of the wetland focuses mainly on surface flow, creating diverse habitat spaces through the use of deep and shallow ponds. To enhance treatment efficiency, a subsurface flow wetland system was added at the latter section of the wetland's sedimentation basin to help remove most of the pollutants from the water. After inflow, the water first undergoes pretreatment through the sedimentation basin and medium bed, followed by a series of surface flow wetlands before reaching the outlet. A preliminary layout of the site is illustrated in the accompanying diagram.
