Peng Village Wetland Introduction
Pengcun Wetland covers an area of approximately 10 hectares and is located at the boundary of Linbian Township and Donggang Township. It was originally used as a military camp. Next to the site, there are three open drainage channels, including an unnamed ditch east of Datong Village (external wastewater interception), the Nanpu Pond branch, and the Haifeng Pond branch. This wetland primarily directs drainage from the east side community of Datong Village, Nanpu Pond branch, and Haifeng Pond branch into the Pengcun Wetland, utilizing its natural purification function to reduce pollution before discharging into Dapeng Bay lagoon. The wetland is mainly designed for surface flow and features both deep and shallow ponds to create a diverse habitat. To enhance treatment efficiency, a subsurface flow wetland system is added after the sedimentation pond to help remove most pollutants from the water. Incoming water is first treated through the sedimentation pond and media bed before passing through a series of surface flow wetlands to the outlet, with the preliminary layout of the site illustrated.
