Peng Village Wetland Introduction
Peng Village Wetland covers an area of approximately 10 hectares and is located at the junction of Linbian Township and Donggang Town. It was originally used as a military camp. Next to the site, there are three open ditches: an unnamed ditch on the east side of Datang Village (for external wastewater interception), the Nanpu Pond branch, and the Haifeng Pond branch. This wetland primarily channels drainage from the community on the east side of Datang Village, the Nanpu Pond branch, and the Haifeng Pond branch into the Peng Village Wetland, utilizing natural purification functions to reduce pollution before discharging into the Dapeng Bay lagoon. The wetland design focuses mainly on surface flow, and creates diverse habitat spaces through deep and shallow ponds. To enhance treatment efficiency, a subsurface flow wetland system is added in the later stage of the sedimentation pond to help remove most pollutants from the water. Incoming water first undergoes pre-treatment through the sedimentation pond and media bed, followed by a series of surface flow wetlands before reaching the outlet. The preliminary layout of the site is illustrated in the accompanying diagram.
