Pengcun Wetland Introduction
Peng Village Wetland covers an area of approximately 10 hectares, located at the boundary between Linbian Township and Donggang Township. It was originally used as a military camp. Adjacent to the site are three open ditches: an unnamed ditch on the east side of Datang Village (for external sewage interception), and the Nanpu Pond and Haifeng Pond branch lines. This wetland mainly collects drainage from the eastern community of Datang Village, the Nanpu Pond branch line, and the Haifeng Pond branch line, using natural purification functions to reduce pollutants before discharging into Dapeng Bay Lagoon. The wetland is primarily designed for surface flow, creating diverse habitat spaces through deep and shallow ponds. To increase treatment efficiency, a subsurface flow wetland system was added in the latter part of the wetland sedimentation basin to help remove most pollutants from the water. After inflow, water first goes through pre-treatment in the sedimentation basin and media bed, followed by a series of surface flow wetlands before reaching the outlet. The initial configuration of the site is shown in the diagram.
