Sunset Bay Introduction
In the early days, residents around Dapeng Bay primarily engaged in aquaculture, with home water pipes sprawling across the ground, causing visual disarray and management difficulties. After extensive coordination and planning, the pipelines of aquaculture households were reorganized and consolidated into a "shared water pool" for common use, which not only addressed the scenic and management issues but also created a recreational and educational space. A bike path and walking trails were planned around the lagoon, making it one of the best spots to watch the sunset. The complete accessibility features make it suitable for wheelchair users to enjoy the breeze and stroll amidst the beautiful sunset glow. To make this attraction more reflective of the cultural and tourism characteristics of Dapeng Bay, a naming contest was held in 2014, and it was renamed "Sunset Bay."
