Matsu Distillery Introduction
Matsu Brewery, located at the foot of Niujiao Ridge in Fuxing Village, is renowned for its exquisite wines crafted from pure, sweet spring water. The brewery is especially famous for its Daqu, sorghum, and aged liquor, which have become representative specialties of Matsu. The entrance of the brewery is flanked by a neatly arranged array of wine jars, creating a grand atmosphere. A couplet hangs at the entrance, welcoming visitors with the phrase “Opening the jar, the fragrance spreads for miles; washing the jar, thousands become tipsy.” Inside, the exhibition hall displays a variety of fine wines, including commemorative wines produced by the Matsu Brewery over the years and rare medicinal wines that are now out of print. Visitors can also learn about the history of wine production in Matsu through video presentations and physical exhibits of early brewing equipment, such as iron pots, bamboo sieves, and ancient jars. If you find yourself in Matsu's Nangan, be sure to visit the Matsu Brewery Exhibition Hall to appreciate the history of Matsu’s winemaking. Wine enthusiasts definitely should not miss this!
