Crocodile Encounter Introduction
Dreamlike奇岩 under the beautiful sky On the west coast of Qing Shui Ao in Xiyin, there is a land that extends into the sea, resembling a giant crocodile from a distance, lifelike with a mouth and legs, and even vaguely recognizable claws, lying in wait as if preparing to head out to sea! Hence, the locals refer to it as "Crocodile Island," also known as "Lying Crocodile." There is a local legend about this place: in the past, a ferocious crocodile followed a school of fish up the river to Qing Shui Ao, often causing trouble for fishermen, who were greatly disturbed. Fortunately, the Jade Emperor intervened, subduing the crocodile and allowing its spirit to rest at the west coast of Qing Shui Ao, resulting in the shape of Crocodile Island that we see today. Dongyin Invincible Sea Scenic Area - San Shan Fort At the far left end of the Lying Crocodile is an important stronghold guarding the western waters of Dongyin, which offers an excellent view of the surrounding sea. The name San Shan Fort comes from military needs in earlier years, where the location of the easternmost Dong Chong Lighthouse was named "Height No. 1," and counting from east to west, the highest ground at the west end of Xiyin Island was referred to as "Height No. 33." This is the westernmost stronghold in the Dongyin defense area. Due to a mistake made by the military in engraving the stone, it is now also called "San Shan Fort." This site is currently open to the public, and on clear days, you have the chance to view Liang Island, Nanbeijian, or coastal islands of the mainland from here!
