Lotus Pond Research Center Introduction

Established on April 23, 1918, originally named "Medicinal Plant Cultivation Experimental Site," located in Wucheng Village, Yuchi Township, Nantou County. It was renamed the "Lianhuachi Research Center" of the Forestry Research Institute of the Council of Agriculture in 2002. Due to the rich biodiversity of the surrounding environment, the current survey of plants and animals within the park includes 177 families, 561 genera, and 879 species of higher plants, among which 589 species are native and 290 species are introduced. There are 78 species of wild birds. Additionally, 131 species of butterflies, 24 species of amphibian frogs, 10 species of lizards, 11 species of reptiles, and 20 species of mammals have been surveyed. Furthermore, this is a great place to view fireflies every year from April to May.
