Liao Mayor Black Tea -- Rich and Fragrant | Yuchi Black Tea -- [Yuchi Black Tea] is located in Yuchi Township, Nantou County, where its black tea industry began developing during the Japanese occupation period. In 1925, Japanese farmers introduced Assam black tea seeds from India and began trial cultivation in the Yuchi Township area. Due to the significant temperature difference between day and night, frequent fog in the mornings and evenings, and the acidic brick-red soil, the geographical conditions closely resemble those of the original Assam black tea growing areas, leading to successful results. Consequently, the Taiwan Governor-General's Office established the "Yuchi Black Tea Experimental Station" in 1936 in Yuchi to serve as a research center focused on introducing and promoting Assam black tea. This laid the foundation for the development of the black tea industry in Yuchi Township. The "Liao Mayor Black Tea Story Museum," completed in 2012, features an exterior with classical European elegance, while the interior blends nostalgia with modernity, offering surprising elements throughout.
