Hsu Lung Tea Factory is the only tea factory in the Alishan area that preserves the traditional method of making compressed tea. The owner, Lin Bing-Hui, left his urban life in the construction industry to establish Hsu Lung Tea Factory in 1987 for the sake of his elderly parents. Hsu Lung Tea is dedicated to producing every cup of great tea through unique techniques and hand-crafted compression, making compressed tea a signature product of Hsu Lung and a must-visit place for domestic and international tourists to experience compressed tea. With over thirty years of tea management, the owner promotes indigenous tea varieties, passing down the flavors of ancestors to tea lovers, while also educating people on traditional tea crafting methods. The Xi Yun tea series is available for pre-booking, where guests can experience the compression process and enjoy the tea wrapped in calligraphy, getting more aromatic as it ages. The tea varieties include Oolong tea, Jin Xuan tea, and indigenous tea, with guided experiences available for guests to learn how to distinguish between different tea types. The factory's interior and exterior are adorned with rich murals, perfect for photo opportunities and storytelling.
