Shangyi Eco-Park Introduction

The Wind Lion God is the representative sacred beast of Kinmen. Upon arriving by plane to Kinmen, the first sight you will encounter is a large Wind Lion God standing on a high ground, which is located in Kinmen County Eco-Park. The Eco-Park was originally a decommissioned magnetic soil mining area, and in 1995, efforts were made to obtain funding from the Environmental Protection Administration to restore it as an Eco-Park, covering a total area of 23.92 hectares. The park includes an interpretation center, an area with 64 Wind Lion Gods at Island Lake, a large Wind Lion God, and landscape planting. In 2005, the Environmental Protection Bureau moved in, and through everyone's efforts, the Eco-Park has become a lush, thriving space. Within the Eco-Park, there is a lake where herons and other wading birds can often be seen foraging. In the center of the lake, an island shaped like Kinmen Island has been designed, where replicas of the 64 Wind Lion Gods from various towns in Kinmen are placed, allowing you to appreciate the Wind Lion Gods from all the villages at once. Notably, each Wind Lion God has different shapes, sizes, expressions, and the ritual objects they hold. Among them, the Wind Lion God from Anqi is the tallest at 378 centimeters, making it a sight worth admiring. Additionally, there is a Wind Lion God in the park, approximately 15 meters high, holding a handsome seal and command flag, which was established at the beginning of the park's construction. The park is equipped with accessible facilities, including accessible restrooms, accessible ramps, and accessible parking spaces.
