Dazhange Temple (Da-Zhang-Shu) Introduction
The camphor tree is over 700 years old, standing at a height of 30 meters. It is located in front of the popular Dazhong Temple in Jiji, which is known for its vibrant religious activities. In the early years of the Guangxu era, devotees rebuilt the original small shrine into a temple and carved a statue of Dazhong Ye for worship. Due to its ancient age, the local people regard the old camphor tree as a deity and refer to it as "Zhangshu Gong." Every year on the 23rd day of the 8th lunar month, a celebration called the "Qianqiu of Zhangshu Gong" is held, attracting countless visitors and worshippers. In 1999, the local government sought funding from the Environmental Protection Administration to build a recreational park, providing a shaded space for travelers to rest and relax under the tree.
