Jiji Station Introduction
Jiji Station is famous for its construction using cypress wood. In the early days, it served as a hub for local passengers, bananas, rice, fruits, and timber along the railway line, making it a distribution center for agricultural products in the nearby towns. After experiencing severe tilting due to the 921 Earthquake, the restored Jiji Station retains its traditional wooden Japanese architectural style, making it one of the few remaining railway stations from the Japanese colonial period. The quaint town is known for its diverse tourism resources, and right next to the well-known Jiji Station stands a retired M24 tank from the Republic of China Armed Forces. On holidays, tourists flock to the area, making it a significant and well-known tourist attraction in Jiji Township.
