Jiji Station Introduction
Jiji Station is famous for its cypress wood construction. In the early days, it served as a distribution center for the local agricultural products such as bananas, rice, fruits, and timber along the railway line for travelers from nearby townships. After experiencing severe tilting from the 921 earthquake, the restored Jiji Station retains its Japanese wooden architecture and is currently one of the few remaining railway stations from the Japanese occupation era. The quaint town is well-known for its diverse tourism resources, and the popular Jiji Station also showcases a decommissioned M24 tank from the army. During weekends, it attracts a continuous stream of visitors, making it an important and well-known tourist spot in Jiji Township.
