Mijuku Fresh Fruit Yogurt Specialty Store Introduction
The delightful flavor of fresh fruits combined with tangy yogurt unfolds quietly in Chiayi. The fresh, handmade yogurt made without artificial colors reflects the owner's, Ke Bo-Ren's, commitment to family and consumers. After going through a mid-life career change from a job completely unrelated to the food industry, he began this journey motivated by the desire to prepare food for his beloved wife and family. Inspired by his wife's love for fruits, Ke Bo-Ren sought out relatives who cultivate fruit and began his venture starting with a juice shop. By using local, fresh ingredients and employing the simplest, most natural methods—without adding spices, colors, or artificial flavorings—he gradually developed healthier and delicious products like jams and dried fruits. Eventually, he created fresh fruit yogurt, skillfully stacking vibrant colors, fresh flavors, and fruity aromas to craft a dreamy delight! Initially, the people of Chiayi were not quite accustomed to the tangy taste of yogurt, prompting Boss Ke to personally visit schools and companies throughout Chiayi, promoting his products through free tastings. Based on customer feedback, he slowly refined the recipe to create yogurt that delays the sourness, appealing to both children and adults alike, which gradually increased its popularity. What began as a supporting role for yogurt in his store has now become the main attraction! The handmade yogurt meets SGS certification, ensuring fresh and delicious quality with strict attention from the source. This includes collaborating with dedicated dairy farmers to guarantee the origin and quality of the milk. This year, he also partnered with small farmers to cultivate hibiscus flowers; remarkably, the seeds were harvested from his own planting last year. The transparent sourcing and production process allow consumers not only to eat with peace of mind but also to feel the heartfelt commitment behind it. As a result, Mei Ju Ke yogurt specialty shop qualified to exhibit at the Tokyo Food Show, Asia’s largest food exhibition, in both 2017 and 2018, aiming to showcase the beautiful original intention of yogurt with Taiwan’s local flavors to the world.
