4th Park Liang Gu Traditional Brown Sugar Shaved Ice Introduction
Liang Ji Ice Shop on Anle Road is renowned for its unique brown sugar ice blocks. Watching the owner take out a large block of rapidly frozen ice and place it on the shaving machine, in an instant, a bowl of shaved ice drizzled with aromatic brown sugar is served before you. The texture of the shaved ice is different from the usual ice granules; the pieces are not as coarse and do not require biting. It falls somewhere between the delicate smoothness of fluffy ice and the crispness of shaved ice. Since the ice block is made of brown sugar, the shaved ice is not pure white, and each bite carries a subtle aroma of brown sugar along with the fine ice bits.
