Chen Chi Wedding Rice

Taipei Foods

Located at the corner of Ruifang First Market, Ruifang Chen's Mi Yue Rice has a history of nearly thirty years as a renowned oil rice specialist in the area. Driving across the Ruifang Bridge towards Ruibin, you can still spot the small Mi Yue Rice sign at the entrance of the bridge. The super popular food from this small stall is the soft and chewy oil rice that remains fragrant even when cold. The owner, Chen Ming, selects long glutinous rice from Central Taiwan and uses traditional methods to slowly steam the rice before mixing it with shallots, Wanjiaxiang soy sauce, and spices. Each bite is astonishing. Generally, cold oil rice becomes hard, but Chen's oil rice is special as it becomes more enjoyable with each bite. The owner invests more in quality ingredients to ensure customer satisfaction. The oil rice is topped with a mushroom braise sauce brewed over charcoal, which reduces the oiliness of the meat while imparting a smoky flavor, making it no wonder the place is always bustling with customers. The restaurant also offers delicious meat thick soup and squid thick soup, served with noodles, rice noodles, or flat rice noodles, bringing tasty delights to the table.
