Chen Ji Mi Yue Rice Introduction
Located at the corner of the Ruifang First Market, Ruifang Chenji Miyo Oil Rice is a well-established name in the local food scene with nearly 30 years of history. Driving towards Ruibin over the Ruifang Bridge, you can spot a small Miyo Oil Rice sign at the top of the bridge. The standout dish of this small stall is the oil rice, which is soft and chewy without being greasy; even when cold, it becomes increasingly fragrant with each bite. Owner Chen Ming selects long glutinous rice from central Taiwan and uses traditional methods to slowly steam the rice in a cooking pot, then mixes it with shallots, Wanjiaxiang soy sauce, and other seasonings. Each mouthful is surprising and delightful. While typical oil rice hardens when cold, Chenji's version is special—it becomes even more palatable as you eat. They invest more in ingredients to ensure customer satisfaction. The oil rice is topped with a mushroom braising sauce cooked over charcoal by the owner, which reduces oiliness while adding a delightful smoky flavor, explaining the constant flow of customers every day. The shop also offers delicious meat thick soup and squid thick soup, served with noodles, rice vermicelli, or flat rice noodles—ready to enjoy a feast!
