Ming Hsin Food - Annan Store Introduction
Ming Hsin Food was established in 1962, originally starting as a grocery store named Ming Hsin Food Store near National Cheng Kung University and Tainan First Senior High School (now at the corner of Changrong Road and Dongning Road). The founder, Mr. Hsu Chun-Hsiung (currently the chairman), foresaw that Western pastries would change the eating habits of the Taiwanese people. With a visionary outlook, he went to the Taipei Nangang Baking School (now the Chinese Grain Research Institute) to learn baking-related knowledge and skills, gradually transforming the grocery store into a specialty store for Western pastries. In 1989, alongside the development of Tainan City's East District, Ming Hsin Food Co., Ltd. was officially established. Since opening the second and third branches at the end of Dongning Road and Xiao Dong Road in 1990, there are now a total of ten outlets, becoming a well-known pastry company in southern Taiwan over the past forty years. Their main products include bread, cakes, both Chinese and Western wedding cakes, as well as gift boxes featuring local specialties from Tainan.
