Ming Hsin Food - Annan Store Introduction

"Ming Hsin Foods was established in 1962, originally as a grocery store called Ming Hsin Foods Shop (located at the corner of Changrong Road and Dongning Road) near National Cheng Kung University and Tainan First Senior High School. The founder, Mr. Hsu Chun-Hsiung (currently the Chairman), foresaw the changing dietary habits of the people with the rise of Western-style baked goods. He took a proactive approach by attending the Taipei Nangang Bakery School (now known as the Grain Research Institute of Taiwan) to learn baking knowledge and skills, gradually transforming the grocery store into a specialty store for pastries. In 1989, with the development of Tainan City’s East District, Ming Hsin Foods was officially restructured into "Ming Hsin Foods Co., Ltd." Since opening the second and third branches at the bottom of Dongning Road and Xiaodong Road in 1990, the company now operates ten stores and has become a well-known pastry company in southern Taiwan over the past forty years. Their main products include bread, cakes, Chinese and Western wedding pastries, and gift boxes of Tainan specialties."
