Ming Hsin Food - Annan Store Introduction
Ming Hsin Food was founded in 1962, establishing a grocery store named Ming Hsin Food Store (now at the intersection of Changrong Road and Dongning Road) near National Cheng Kung University and Tainan First Senior High School. The founder, Mr. Hsu Jun-Hsiung (the current chairman), recognized that Western pastries would change the eating habits of the Taiwanese people. With a forward-looking vision, he went to Taipei Nangang Baking School (now the Taiwanese Cereal Research Institute) to learn baking knowledge and skills. The grocery store gradually transformed into a specialty store for Western pastries and, along with the development of the East District of Tainan City, officially reorganized into "Ming Hsin Food Co., Ltd." in 1989. Since the establishment of the second and third stores at the end of Dongning Road and Xiaodong Road in 1990, there are now a total of ten stores. Over the past forty years, it has gained considerable recognition in the southern region as a pastry company. The main products include bread, cakes, Chinese and Western wedding pastries, and gift boxes of Tainan specialties.
