Ming Hsin Food - Annan Store Introduction
"Ming Hsin Food was founded in 1962, near National Cheng Kung University and Tainan First Senior High School, establishing a grocery store called Ming Hsin Food Store (now at the intersection of Changrong Road and Dongning Road). The owner, Mr. Hsu Jun-Hsiung (currently the chairman), foresaw that Western-style pastries would change the eating habits of Taiwanese people. With a visionary outlook, he went to Taipei Nangang Baking School (now the Chinese Cereals Institute) to learn baking-related knowledge and techniques, gradually transforming the grocery store into a specialty store for Western breads and pastries. In 1989, along with the development of Tainan City's East District, it was officially reorganized into "Ming Hsin Food Co., Ltd." Starting from 1990, with the establishment of the second and third branches at the bottom of Dongning Road and Xiaodong Road, there are now a total of ten stores. Over the past forty years, it has become a well-known pastry company in southern Taiwan. The main products include bread, cakes, traditional Chinese and Western wedding cakes, and gift boxes of local specialties from Tainan."
