"Ke Lin Food Store" is a unique memory for the people of Tainan, known for creating many memorable products. The "Eight Treasure Meat Bun," which started selling thirty-five years ago, is one of Ke Lin's signature items and a masterpiece of the first generation owner, Mr. Liu. The inspiration came from the traditional "Eight Treasure Meat Balls" dish made by "Grandma Toh-Jia" every New Year's Eve, which can be steamed, boiled, stir-fried, or deep-fried, making it a versatile ingredient. Mr. Liu improved the Eight Treasure Meat Balls to have a stronger flavor, suitable for storage at a time when refrigerators were not common. Each bun costs 15 NT dollars, with only 60 sold per day, limited availability.
