Keelung Tofu Pudding Introduction
"Ke Lin Food Store" is a unique memory for the people of Tainan, creating many unforgettable products. One of its signature items is the "Eight Treasure Meat Bun," which has been sold since thirty-five years ago and is the masterpiece of the first-generation owner, Mr. Liu. The origin of this dish comes from the tradition of the "head house grandma" who would prepare Eight Treasure Meat Balls every Lunar New Year's Eve. These meat balls can be steamed, boiled, stir-fried, or deep-fried, making them a versatile ingredient. Mr. Liu improved the Eight Treasure Meat Balls to have a stronger flavor suitable for preservation since refrigerators were not common at the time. Each bun costs 15 NT dollars, and only 60 are sold per day, available in limited supply.
