Keeling Tai Bao Introduction
"Ke Lin Food Store" is a special memory for the people of Tainan. It has created many memorable products; one of its signature items is the "Eight Treasure Meat Bun," which has been sold for thirty-five years and is the masterpiece of the first generation, Mr. Liu. The origin of this bun comes from the custom during New Year's Eve when "Grandma Toujia" would prepare dishes with Eight Treasure Meat Balls, which can be steamed, boiled, sautéed, or fried, making them a versatile ingredient. Mr. Liu improved the Eight Treasure Meat Balls to have a stronger flavor, suitable for storage, since refrigerators were not common at that time. Each bun costs 15 TWD, and only 60 are sold per day, limited supply available.
