Mantang Teahouse

Chiayi Foods

In 2009, the 88 Flood swept through various parts of Taiwan, including Ruifeng Village in Chiayi, which is the hometown of Youzhen. During that time, Youzhen had the thought of wanting to do something for her hometown. After the disaster, Youzhen returned to her village, contemplating how to raise awareness of Ruifeng while allowing tea lovers to taste the unique flavor of Ruifeng tea. Therefore, in 2014, Youzhen, along with her sister-in-law Xingyuan, established a storefront in Chiayi City under the brand "Mantang Tea". They sell high-quality tea from Ruifeng Village, which is part of the Alishan tea region. The store's collection of award-winning teas, recognized both nationally and internationally, comes from local tea gardens and has been strictly screened by Youzhen. They hope that customers and travelers who visit the store will learn about the diverse aspects of Alishan tea through tasting and introductions of the origin. Additionally, the store provides brewing instructions in Chinese, English, and Japanese, teaching everyone how to easily brew good tea. With its youthful and cute packaging, along with bilingual service, Mantang has become a premium destination for purchasing Alishan tea both domestically and internationally. Besides selling high-quality tea, Mantang also collaborates with the Ruifeng community to hold rural experience activities from time to time, allowing consumers to visit the homeland of championship tea and experience the complicated processes of tea picking, roasting, kneading, and brewing, while enjoying fragrant tea amidst serene bamboo forests and nature. The brand logo of Mantang Tea features the blue magpie, a symbol of the Tsou tribe. The elegant flying figure of the blue magpie throughout the store represents Youzhen's deep and steadfast feelings for her hometown. If you have the opportunity, be sure to visit Mantang and share in this sweet and pure goodness. Recommended items: limited seasonal teas, Jin Xuan tea.
