Zhu Du Lan Township Handmade Soap Introduction
"Zudulun" is located in Dulan Village, and its name is pronounced in Hokkien, carrying a humorous double entendre. It was established by a couple who, for the sake of their child's upbringing, resolutely left their high-paying jobs in Taipei and returned to Taitung to create a handmade soap workshop. After repeated discussions, the couple chose the current site, together crafting a cozy and comfortable slow-living space; the bright, spacious, and design-oriented architecture often leads friends and first-time visitors to mistakenly believe it is a特色民宿 (special guesthouse). The handmade soaps are made using local materials from the East Coast, including betel nut, tobacco, and millet. The production process emphasizes meticulousness and persistence, and both the packaging and sourcing of ingredients often involve collaboration with the Dulan community, fully showcasing the cultural characteristics of the Dulan Amis people. This rustic village handmade soap embodies the concept of returning to genuine life while telling the stories of the tribe.
