Cheng Gong Douhua Introduction
Chenggong Douhua is a local dessert shop established by residents of Chenggong Township, which has been in operation for over a decade. The owner initially learned the art of making douhua from friends and relatives in Tainan and started selling it from a stall in front of their home upon returning to Chenggong, experimenting with different toppings and flavors to bring the traditional taste of douhua to consumers. In recent years, Chenggong Douhua relocated to its current site, and with the assistance of a public welfare foundation, the exterior of the store was designed based on the old houses from the Japanese occupation period in Chenggong, creating a space that blends Japanese and traditional Taiwanese rural styles. In addition to its signature douhua products, the shop now also offers barley and dessert items, providing customers with a wider variety of options and becoming a well-known local dessert shop in Chenggong Township.
