Chenggong Douhua Introduction
Chenggong Douhua is a local dessert shop established by residents of Chenggong Township, operating for more than a decade. The owner initially learned the art of making douhua (tofu pudding) from friends and relatives in Tainan, and upon returning to Chenggong, started selling it from a stall in front of their home, experimenting with different flavors and toppings to present the authentic texture of traditional douhua to customers. In recent years, Chenggong Douhua relocated to its current location, and with the assistance of a non-profit organization, the shop's exterior was designed after discussions inspired by the old houses from the Japanese colonial period in Chenggong, creating a blend of Japanese and traditional Taiwanese rural styles. Currently, in addition to their signature douhua products, they also offer job's tears and frozen desserts, providing customers with a wider variety of options, making it a well-known dessert shop in Chenggong Township.
