Cheng Gong Douhua Introduction
Chenggong Douhua is a local dessert shop established by residents of Chenggong Township and has been in operation for over a decade. The owner initially learned the art of making douhua (soy pudding) from friends and relatives in Tainan and started selling from a stall in front of their home upon returning to Chenggong. The shop has developed various flavors of douhua toppings, aiming to present the traditional taste and texture of douhua to consumers. In recent years, Chenggong Douhua relocated to its current site, and with the assistance of a公益平台 (公益 platform) foundation, the exterior of the shop was designed through discussions, inspired by old houses from the Japanese colonial period in Chenggong, creating a blend of Japanese and traditional Taiwanese rural styles. In addition to its signature douhua products, the shop now offers barley and ice treat products, providing customers with more diverse options and becoming a well-known local dessert shop in Chenggong Township.
