Chenggong Ocean Environment Classroom Introduction
The Kuroshio Current has created a rich habitat for whales, dolphins, and marine life in the seas around Chenggong. Near the Chenggong Fish Port, there is a marine environmental classroom at the yacht marina. This place introduces various kinds of whales and dolphins, the processes and tools used in the film "The King of Porcupine Fish," and Chenggong's unique fishing culture. Through free and engaging guided tours, along with occasional marine-themed activities, exhibitions, and whale watching trips, visitors can gain a deeper understanding of the precious marine ecology around Taitung, making it an excellent destination for family outings to learn about marine life. Besides listening to the guided tours at the marine environmental classroom, you might also want to stroll around Chenggong Township, enjoy local delicacies, experience the lively calls at the fish market, and finally visit the only Billfish Temple in Taiwan, where it is said that touching the wooden Billfish God’s head, belly, and tail fin can grant wishes!
