Chenggong Ocean Environment Classroom Introduction
The Kuroshio Current has given rise to rich whale and dolphin populations, as well as a variety of marine life, in the waters near Chenggong. Close to the Chenggong New Port Fishing Harbor, there is a marine environment classroom. Here, you can learn about different kinds of whales and dolphins, the process and tools related to the swordfish featured in the movie "War Surge," and the unique fishing culture of Chenggong. With engaging free guided tours, along with periodic marine-themed excursions, exhibitions, and whale watching trips, visitors can gain a deeper understanding of the precious marine ecology surrounding Taitung, making it a great place for family outings to learn about marine life. In addition to attending the guided explanations at the marine environment classroom, it's also recommended to stroll around Chenggong Township, enjoy delicious food, experience the lively sounds of the fish market, and finally visit the only swordfish temple in Taiwan. It is said that touching the head, belly, and tail fin of the wooden swordfish deity can make your wishes come true!
