Chenggong Ocean Environment Classroom Introduction
The Kuroshio Current has created a rich habitat for whales, dolphins, and marine life in the waters around Chenggong. Near the Chenggong New Port Fishing Harbor, there is a marine environmental classroom. Here, various types of whales and dolphins are introduced, along with the process and equipment used in the film "The Isle" for catching swordfish, as well as the unique fishing culture of Chenggong. With free guided tours and occasional marine-themed trips, exhibition activities, and whale-watching tours, visitors can gain a deeper understanding of the precious marine ecology around Taitung, making it a great place for family outings to learn about marine ecology together. Besides listening to the guided tours at the marine environmental classroom, it is also worth taking a stroll around Chenggong Township to enjoy delicious food, experience the lively calls of the fish market, and finally visit the only swordfish temple in Taiwan. It is said that touching the head, belly, and tail of the wooden swordfish deity can grant wishes and make dreams come true!
