Success Story Museum Introduction

The first floor exhibition area is divided into a permanent exhibition zone, showcasing local marine culture, including video presentations of fixed net fishing operations, introductions to swordfish species, legendary stories of spear fishermen, and exhibitions of old photographs, among others. The other exhibition area is a special display area that will periodically showcase local humanities and arts, economic industries, antique exhibits, and results of various events. Chenggong Township is long and narrow from north to south, with settlements developed by various ethnic groups lined up along the coastal plain, with the Amis being the primary group. There are a total of eight administrative villages within the jurisdiction, with agriculture being the most common occupation, followed by fishing. The Amis are a matriarchal society known for their optimistic and simple nature, with unembellished singing and primitive dancing that blend with the sounds of the wind and waves, as their life and rituals have long been integrated with nature. The Harvest Festival is the essence of the Amis' traditional culture and is the most distinctive event that highlights Amis characteristics, playing a significant role in cultural preservation and the continuity of the ethnic group. The coastal villages of Chenggong Township, from south to north, include Xiaoma Village, Duli Village, Fengtian Village, Heping Village, Qilin Village, Minfeng Village, Sanmin Village, Zhitian Village, Sanxian Village, Meishan Village, Xiaogang Village, Yushuiqiao Village, Chong'an Village, and Yuwan Village, totaling fourteen villages. Every year from July to early August, each village selects a time to begin the annual Harvest Festival, where lively dancing and joyful singing create an atmosphere that immerses travelers in the rich Amis culture. You are welcome to share in the joy of the Harvest Festival, experience the original baptism, and explore the philosophy of coexistence between the Amis and nature.
