Success Story Museum Introduction
The first floor exhibition area is divided into a permanent exhibition zone, showcasing local oceanic cultural displays, including videos of fixed net fishing operations, introductions to various species of marlin, legendary stories of spear fishermen, old photo exhibitions, and more. Another exhibition hall is a special display area that will periodically showcase local cultural arts, economic industries, antique exhibitions, and achievements from events, etc. Chenggong Township is long and narrow from north to south, with settlements developed by various ethnic groups lined up along the coastal plain from north to south, with the Amis being the main ethnic group. There are a total of eight administrative villages within the area, with the majority of the population engaged in agriculture, followed by fishing. The Amis are a matriarchal society known for their optimistic and sincere nature, with unadorned singing and primitive dance steps that harmonize with the sounds of the wind and waves, integrating their lives and rituals with nature. The Harvest Festival is the essence of Amis traditional culture and the event that best showcases Amis characteristics, playing a significant role in the continuity of the ethnic group and the preservation of culture. Along the coast of Chenggong Township, there are fourteen tribes from south to north including Xiaoma Tribe, Duli Tribe, Fengtian Tribe, Heping Tribe, Qilin Tribe, Minfeng Tribe, Sanmin Tribe, Zhitian Tribe, Sanxian Tribe, Meishan Tribe, Xiaogang Tribe, Yushuiqiao Tribe, Chong'an Tribe, and Yiwan Tribe. Each year from July to early August, the tribes select a time to begin the annual Harvest Festival, where lively dancing and joyful singing immerse travelers in the rich Amis culture. You are welcomed to come here to share in the joy of the annual Harvest Festival, receive a primitive baptism, and experience the Amis' philosophy of coexistence with nature.
