Since the collaboration between 7-Eleven and the owner of Fenqihu Hotel, Lin Jinkuan, to launch the nationwide famous Alishan Railway bento, this mountain town of Fenqihu has added a delicious bento to its scenic attractions. Every holiday, the old street is bustling with crowds, with people sitting inside the store and standing outside, all eager to taste that fragrant railway bento, making one marvel at its charm. The railway bento introduced by Fenqihu Hotel, featuring traditional flavors, is the most popular among consumers, priced at 100 TWD each. It contains a generous amount of ingredients, including fragrant rice topped with pork ribs made from black pigs, braised chicken thighs, oil tofu, dragon beard vegetables, bamboo shoots, and red bean twigs, creating a fresh and delicious bento. The chicken thighs and ribs emphasize CAS certification, ensuring high quality despite higher costs, but the owner believes it's worth it for the tourists. The traditional railway bento is based on Lin Jinkuan's mother's home-cooked recipes. Originally, the railway bento was provided as a lunch for Alishan Railway passengers traveling from Chiayi to Alishan.
