Fenqihu Hotel Introduction
Since the collaboration between 7-11 and the owner of Fenqihu Hotel, Lin Jinkun, launched the nationally famous Alishan Railway Bento, the mountain town of Fenqihu has added to its scenic appeal with a delicious bento that is hard to forget. During weekends, the old street is bustling with crowds, both seated inside and standing outside the restaurant, all eager to taste that fragrant railway bento, which makes one marvel at the allure of bento. Fenqihu Hotel's railway bento, featuring traditional flavors, is the most popular among consumers, priced at NT$100 each. It contains generous and substantial ingredients, including fragrant rice topped with ribs made from black pork, braised chicken legs, as well as fried tofu, dragon beard vegetables, bamboo shoots, and red bean springs, creating a fresh and delicious bento. The chicken legs and ribs emphasize CAS certification, ensuring high quality at a higher cost, but the owner believes it's worth it for the tourists. The traditional railway bento is a recipe from Lin Jinkun's mother, originally served as a lunch for passengers on the Alishan Railway traveling from Chiayi to Alishan. It has now become a nationally renowned delicacy, making it difficult for visitors to Fenqihu to resist ordering a bento to sample its flavors. Among the railway bentos at Fenqihu Hotel, the chicken leg is a favorite among foodies, especially the tender chicken leg known as fragrant tea butterfly leg.
