The Mountain Dining Hall has carefully designed around seven types of specialty bento boxes for travelers to choose from, including fried pork ribs, osmanthus tea braised chicken leg, soft roasted pork, stir-fried mountain pork, bamboo shoots stewed with braised pork, chicken with bitter tea oil, and vegetarian options. The owner aims to achieve "zero distance from farm to table," sourcing all bento ingredients from seasonal local produce. For instance, one of the signature bentos, bamboo shoots stewed with braised pork, uses bamboo shoots produced in Fenqihu; the side dishes are all made with freshly harvested high-altitude vegetables from Alishan, such as bracken in summer and fall, cabbage in spring and winter, and broad beans, which are particularly crispy and sweet. Another signature dish is the osmanthus braised chicken leg bento, which is refreshing with a generous portion of chicken leg. Of course, the fried pork ribs bento is also quite popular.
