Beimen A-Shan Oyster Omelette Introduction
Beimen "A Shan Master Oyster Omelet" was founded by A Shan Master's daughter, Wu Li Juan, and later flourished under A Shan's guidance. It is now operated by siblings Wu Sen Nan and Wu Li Juan. The origin of Wu Li Juan's stall was due to the famous "A Xi Auntie Oyster Omelet," which closed down because A Xi Auntie was elderly, leaving the people of Beimen nostalgic, prompting Wu Li Juan to start her own stall. Her oyster omelet was initially set up at the pavilion where "A Xuan Grilled Fish Soup" is today, selling daily. However, at that time, Beimen's tourism industry had not yet developed, resulting in a lack of customers and a very quiet business, leading her to consider closing down. Wu Wang Ming Shan, her mother, noticed that there were more walk-in customers on weekends and took over the oyster omelet stall, moving it to continue selling at the corner of Yonglong Temple, but only during holidays. Due to the character "Shan" in Wu Wang Ming Shan's name, the locals called her "A Shan Zi," and later some referred to her as "A Shan Master," which unexpectedly became her branding. After some tough times running the business, the management of the Yun-Jia-Nan National Scenic Area established an office in Beimen, which actively promoted tourism, transforming Beimen into a significant tourist hub in Taiwan.
