Beimen Ah Shan's Oyster Omelette Introduction
Beimen "A-Shan's Oyster Omelette" was founded by A-Shan's daughter, Wu Li-Chuan, and later brought to prominence by A-Shan himself. Now, the operation is taken over by siblings Wu Sen-Nan and Wu Li-Chuan. The reason Wu Li-Chuan started her stall was due to the closure of the famous "A-Xi's Oyster Omelette" in Beimen, as A-Xi was getting older, leaving many locals nostalgic. Inspired by this, Wu Li-Chuan decided to create her own stall. Her oyster omelette stall was set up at the current "A-Xuan's Barramundi Soup Shop," operating daily. However, at that time, tourism in Beimen had not yet developed, resulting in few visitors and slow business, making her consider shutting down. Her mother, Wu Wang-Ming-Shan, noticed that there were more walk-in customers on weekends, so she took over the oyster omelette stall and moved it to the corner of Yonglong Temple, continuing to sell only on weekends. Since Wu Wang-Ming-Shan's name contained the word "Shan," locals began calling her "A-Shan," and eventually some referred to her as "A-Shan Master," which unexpectedly became her trademark. After a period of struggling, A-Shan Master coincidentally found that the Yunlin-Chiayi-Tainan National Scenic Area Administration established in Beimen was actively promoting tourism in the area, turning Beimen into a major tourist destination in Taiwan.
