San Bao Zhai Introduction

Sanbao Zhai Bakery is located on Mofan Street, owned by Guo Wenli, who has been making baked goods for over 20 years. The signature recipe, passed down through three generations and continuously improved, offers a delightful local flavor. The name "Sanbao Zhai" comes from having three precious daughters, and the neighbor, the ceramic artist Wang Mingzong, helped name the shop. The products are made entirely by hand, ensuring freshness and flavor, with a sweet aroma and a crispy, soft texture. The key features include high-quality ingredients, with the dough brushed with egg wash, ensuring that the baked goods remain crispy even when cooled, all baked slowly by hand. For the sweet flavor: The cross-section resembles a mille-feuille, extremely crispy, often leaving crumbs if not careful, with a solid texture and a malty aroma. It contains brown sugar, making it sweet and refreshing. For the savory flavor: It uses pork leg, green onions, and a unique recipe, cooked without MSG for health reasons. The moisture, saltiness, and texture of the meat filling are all worth trying.
